ELEVATION CERTIFICATES and LAND SURVEYS |
WHAT IS AN ELEVATION CERTIFICATE? FEMA, (Federal Emergency Management Agency) provides a 3 page form that needs to be filled out showing what the Flood Maps indicate is required for your property and the elevations of what your building and property are today. Your Insurance Agent then takes the information and using the elevation numbers, pictures and type of house data provided can tell you what your insurance fee will be. (1) Once you place your order for the Elevation Certificate then (2) Bill Hyatt or one of our crews will visit your site to obtain the needed information. (3) This information is then sent to the office and combined on the form to complete the form. (4) We send you and your insurance agent a copy by email and you can probably purchase your insurance the same day. (5) We mail two paper copies to you for your files. Our fee is only $150 up front. |
WILL FEMA ALLOW ME TO REMOVE MY HOME FROM THE HAZARD ZONE AREA? FEMA allows you to remove your home or business (building) out of the Flood Hazard area if the lowest elevation on the Elevation Certificate is higher than the Base Elevation required by FEMA which is also shown on your elevation certificate. We can provide this form to you, with the information filled out, copy of your deed or plat, copy of FEMA creek study plan and profile sheets if required, copy of FEMA map and other information to make the form "package" complete. Then we mail the package to you for signature. You then mail it to FEMA and it generally takes 5 - 12 weeks for them to approve your application. Our fee is only $150 up front. |
